Some people fancy computers, others adore building models...well I like both. Only difference is that I also have a deep facination in the production, creation, usage, and management of firearms of all sorts. Below is a list of my personal favorite firearms ranging from sniper rifles to pistols and their specs. All factors were taken into consideration when I chose these including durability, weight, ammunition (projectile) size, weight, clip size, range, temperature, sites, and of course power. I've tried my best to define the acronyms used in the weapons' names (e.g. LDA means Light Double Action).
My favs are categorized into 5 sections: Sniper Rifles, Rifles, SMGs, Machine Guns, and Pistols. Next to the name of the weapon, you can select a link to view it's picture. Keep in mind that:

USEFUL TERMS (Top)
Acronym/Term Definition Additional Information
Ammunition Projectiles fired using weapons There is a broad library of bullet sizes, each one with its advantages. A 9mm clip can hold more 9mm bullets than .45 because they are smaller. However, .45 bullets are larger and as a result, result in more damage but means less bullets can be placed into a clip.
CQB Close Quarter Battle An occurence where a hostile enemy is located very near or directly infront of you. You'd use a sniper rifle for long range so you'd use a pistol or rifle for close combat.
FN Fabrique Nationale A manufacturing company that creates many weapons, including the M249SAW LMG used in many militaries around the world, including the USA and the P90 known for it's high fire rate.
Gemtech Suppressor manufacturers Well known for their AR-15 suppressors, Gemtech has a wide variety of silencers for many weapons such as the FNP90 and the Diemaco SFW.
HMG Heavy Machine Guns Weapons that are usually large in size and weight. They usually require belt fed (chain linked) bullet links that are fed from a 50 or 100 round container. These weapons are known to remain in one position when firing, due to either their recoil or heavy weight.
KAC Knight's Armament Company A company that manufactures rails for guns.
LMG Light Machine Guns Weapons that, unlike HMGs, are more versatile, lighter and can be moved around easier and in most cases, fired by hand without the use of a tripod or bipod.
NVD Night Vision Device Used mostly on HMGs, LMGs, Rifles, and some SMGs to help aid the operator in seeing in the dark. One drawback however is that the device is sensitive to light and fragile.
Rails Installed on weapons Rails are installed on a weapon's body which then allow it to house a variety of accessories such as flashlights, lasers, scopes, NVDs, etc.
RAS Rail Adapter System Rails on which any optics and accesories can be mounted on.
Scope Magnification device There are a wide variety of scopes that can be mounted on rifles of all sorts, most SMGs, and some pistols. The purpose of a scope is to provide the operator with a certain level of magnification and accurate targetting so that he or she can use the weapon to a greater extent. All sniper rifles have scopes, for the obvious reason that most targets would be located far away. On a scope, there is a dile that allows the user to adjust the magnification settings with the distance the target is from the rifle.
SMG Small Machine Guns Semi or Full automatic weapons that are usually small in size.
SOCOM Special Operations Command As the name implies, this is a section of the military that is very discreet with it's operations, most of which never reach the public.
Suppressor Used to silence weapons Suppressors, AKA silencers, are used only on weapons that have barrels that are customized to accept them. Used to muffle the sound of gun shots and usually hide the flash the gun creates. They're known to cause innacuracy in bullet trajectories, however newer models have been designed to actually increase accuracy (e.g. Gemtech).
